Week #1 of Post Beta Development


Hi everyone! We have had another successful week of development after our Beta release. After taking your feedback from our Beta playtest we have made plenty of changes to give you guys more context as to what's going on in the game and to make the game easier to control. 
Next week we plan on releasing a Beta 2.0 so stay tuned for that!

UI Improvements

  • The crafting area now indicates which Coffee is about to be crafted.


  • Interact indicators now only show on the Storage Units when you are close to them.
  • The Recipe board can now be interacted with to show on the Player's UI.


  • A unique cursor has been added!

  • Our 4-Sided Studios splash screen logo will show up when the game starts.
  • We have imported a new font called OCRAEXT. Expect to see it in our next developer log.


Control Changes

  • Pick up and Drop have been changed from E to Left Mouse Button.
  • Interacting with the Storage Unit and Recipe board is still E.
  • Throwing is now Right Mouse Button instead of R.
  • Crafting has been changed from C to R.

With these changes, it should avoid the interaction issues our playtesters were having with the crafting storage.


NPC Updates

  • NPCs now respond differently depending on whether you deliver an order on time.
  • NPCs can no longer accept coffee after they are delivered coffee. They aren't greedy anymore.


Sugar Rush Kid!

We have a new NPC variant called Sugar Rush Kid. They have a chance to spawn instead of a usual customer. The kid doesn't order anything. All they want to do is cause chaos! Toss the kid out of the coffee shop to earn credits!



Orthographic View

Our Overview Camera has now been changed to an Orthographic Camera. This is still something we are testing, but we are liking having two unique ways to view the café.



Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Storage Unit would keep how much was previously stored. Now it will store the correct amount when something is added or taken away.
  • Fixed the credits earning bug, where your credits would get reset back to 13 at the beginning of each day.
  • Fixed a bug where if an original NPC was lost no NPCs would spawn. NPCs are now spawned from a prefab and are no longer dependant on the original NPC.
